Inkling - Terms of Service

Last updated: October 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Inkling (the "app"), developed and published by Aether Reactor ("we", "us"). By downloading, installing, or playing Inkling, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Eligibility

Inkling requires you to be at least 13 years old to create or use an account, due to its random-player matchmaking feature. By using the app, you represent that you are at least 13, and that you meet any additional minimum age required by your app store and local law to enter into these Terms.

License to Use the App

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Inkling on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial entertainment, subject to these Terms and your app store's own terms of service.

Your Account & Progress

Inkling creates an anonymous player session on first launch to save your progress, and lets you optionally link a Google or Apple sign-in, as described in our Privacy Policy. You're responsible for keeping your friend code private if you don't want to be added by people you haven't shared it with, and for the device or sign-in method used to access your progress.

User-Generated Content

Inkling's core gameplay involves creating and sending drawings, choosing a nickname, and typing custom words to draw for friends ("your content"). By submitting content through the app, you agree that:

Reporting, Blocking & Enforcement

Inkling includes tools to report inappropriate content or block another player. An account that receives reports from 3 or more distinct players is automatically hidden from matchmaking and suspended for 7 days pending review. Following manual review, an actioned report applies to the offending account on an escalating basis: a first violation results in a warning, a second results in a 14-day suspension, and a third or subsequent violation is flagged for account termination. We are not obligated to take any specific action in response to a report, and reported players are not notified that a report was filed. We may also remove content or restrict an account outside this process where we believe it's necessary to enforce these Terms.

Virtual Currency & Purchases

Inkling offers in-game coins earned through play. Coin packs are purchasable with real money through Google Play Billing, and Inkling may also offer a Buddy Pass subscription where and when that option is made available in the app. The following applies to any such purchase:

Buddy Pass Subscription

Buddy Pass, where offered, is a recurring monthly subscription purchased and managed through Google Play. By subscribing, you agree that:

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the app if we believe, in good faith, that you've violated these Terms, including through the report/strike process described above. You may stop using the app and permanently delete your account and content at any time as described in our Privacy Policy (Settings → Account → Delete Account).

Disclaimer of Warranties

Inkling is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times, and we do not pre-moderate drawings or messages before delivery.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Aether Reactor is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app, including loss of progress, content, virtual currency, purchases, or exposure to another user's content.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date on this page.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer resides, without regard to conflict of law principles, except where local consumer protection law requires otherwise.
